Desert Truck W/ Brushless Mamba or Stock Speed-T
 

Hello I know I am in for it for creating this topic but I really need some advise from the exprienced. I am looking at getting a Stock Team Losi Speed-T or a Team Losi Desert Truck with Castle Creations Brushless Motor and Mamba Max ESC and Novac . Other than the Brushless upgrade everything is stock on the Desert truck.

My question is IF both the Desert Truck and the Speed-T were both brushless from stock which would be better? Because the Speed-T really does come stock with brushless I am assuming that the Transmission/Gears/Drivetrain are going to be higher quality than Desert Truck but I may be wrong.

Last question. Should I just give up on both of these and find a 4WD brushless setup from Team Associated?

I have a Losi 1/10 DT with a CC SideWinder 5700. And it rocks.

I have the slipper set perfectly and the plastic idler gear will not strip no matter how hard I try.

I dont think you have to worry about the DT transmission as long as you set everything right.

The DT tranny should hold up better.

I like the DT diff. it is great I changed mt XXX-T MF 1 trans over to it I run a Quark 125B esc with a tekin redline brushless motor 537-448-356 had issues with the diff ball setup after 3 or 4 race days diff would be shoot.

Ok your topic stock electronics in the DT stink esc cannot handle a lipo, lights cause radio interferance and 2.4 is bad news
a decent brushless setup will give you more options than the speed T- racing bashing or just having fun
Speed T is just that speed flat paved parking lot period.To change over to a racer as in offroad New shock towers fr/r also new pinions new spurs.new tires and rims.

Well the desert truck wouldnt have stock electronics. It would have Mamba Max ESC and Castle Creations 5700kv motor. As far as the components that would be taking that power in the desert truck I am hoping they dont break in a week of use if I get it. Its stock besides the brushless upgrade. But it sounds like even at that the Desert truck can handle brushless better than the Speed-T?? Or am I misinterpreting
