For Off-road, or On-road? I saw your other post about a tweak board, and thought you might be looking for on-road stuff..... |
I use a prop balancer for airplanes.
|
i have a buggy that has an edm conversion on it.
|
Will that work for my T4 and b4 tires?
|
I use this, it will works right out of the pack for 1/10 losi/AE tires and wheels. It also works for 1/8 buggy and truggy wheels but you need to add a wheel hex.

I use that ^^ one for MT - was sold by Ballistic for MT wheels. I see it gets around. And not surprisingly, it was alot more coming from Ballistic, sigh....
It works fine, just paid too much! |

How does that work, do you have to mod it any way?
To balance the tire just slowly spin it and see what side falls to the bottom then add a small amount of modeling clay to the inside of the wheel on the opposite side. when you are finished you should be able to stop the wheel in any position and it will stay there. It does take a few tries to get the hang of it but its not difficult once you do. |

No, no mods not for losi and AE wheels. As long as the hole in the wheel is small enough for the two cones to secure tightly to the shaft it will work.

takes work, be prepared to be frustrated. but perhaps u wont b/c u'll now know from us that it does take patience and time. but the rewards are there. both in the efficiency of the drivetrain, the action (or lack their of) on ur suspension, and ur also taking better care of ur drivetrain. not to mention it looks cool when u smack ur throttle and ur car doesnt vibrate all to hell doin so.

I have a Matt Francis balancer I bought used, and you are right, it takes alot of patience. I actually am trying a different way. I have not tested it yet, but I am ca gluing 1/8 solder pieces to the inside of the wheel/rim.
|
I tried to glue them to the inside, but I found that after gluing tires to the rims the balance changed. This way everything is set and balancing is the last thing. Less frustrating anyway, well see how durable..

Best material to use is called duct seal. You can get a 1lb brick from your local hardware store for a couple dollars.
