The S offers some trick telemetry stuff and holds 10 models

The R is supposed to have a cleaner faster signal and hold 30 models.

The R goes for about $50 more. I went with the S

cheers but for a racer what would be better

The signal speed is suppose to be the same. I have not heard that it is any different. The S has a lower amount of model memory and a couple less features from the R. The price is also more than $50.00, the R at my lhs is $320.00 the S is like $240.00.

Either one is made for a racer in mind. Depends on how much you want to spend and what features you need. The S at my lhs comes with 2 receivers. Hope that my information helps.

The 3s is DSM1 technology while the 3R is DSM2 and is supposed to be faster. Ultimate Hobbies has the 3S for $211

3s is 214.95 to be exact...a damn good price. I bought one but won't be able to use it until christmas day. If your running offroad, i've been told the dsm2 tech isnt going to play a huge role. Onroad, maybe....but it's like a millisecond difference....you didn't need that extra .0050 second before did you?

im in Australia :( alot more dearer:cry:

Don't forget the DX3S comes with 2 Rx's:

The telememtery one, and a standard spectrum one.....something else to think about if you have multiple vehicles.

Revo-daddy 12-08-2008 08:49 AM

You guys are getting killer deals I paid 250!

The S has a remote start button wwhich pretty much tells you its more of a hobbiest type of thing. Not that its a big feature for this fourm lol

Bump 12-08-2008 08:49 AM

thats another reason i was sold on the S...one rx for my xxxt-cr and one for the slash im going to buy after christmas.:sneaky:

I had to look that up!

RS Port
The RS Port function allows the Remote Start feature
(available in the future on remote start compatible
vehicles) to be enabled on either the Bind port or
Auxiliary channel port of the SR3300T using the
Remote Start Button.

Sportwerks (aka Horizon hobbies) has a RTR truck http://www.sportwerksrc.com/Products...ProdID=SWK1280(Reaction) with this feature.....guessing they might expand it in the future to other RTR's

This pretty much says it all. If you're racing off road, you likely would never know the difference in speed of DSM vs DSM2. You would, however, know your motor is overheating sooner with Telemetry. ;)

DX3R - R=Racing
DX3S - S=Sport

Easy choice, just pick what you're going to use it for.
