maybe it's just that axials body sits way way up, and this one has a lower mounting. gives off the idea that it has less clearance. i think its awesome theres another crawler out.
unlike race cars crawler stuff is fairly cheap. i think novak has a setup for ~150 shipped. but again, they should have priced it closer to the axial price for the kit seeing as how as of now the losi kit has no support like the axial has loads. parts wise. hopefully it works out and it sells like the axial, i just dont see spending 300 on a crawler kit, when an RTR axial is ~280 and from what I hear does just fine with some sticky tires.
spoken like one that does not crawl. it is just as easy to drop buckets of money on a chassis and a set of axles.
Face it r/c is expensive anyway you slice it regardless of type of car. Crawlers (drivers) are just as passionate about their stuff as buggy and on road racers.
I just got into the crawling scene and they have tons of hop ups that would equal anything we could think about spending on our cars.
It's not that cheap. I have almost $2g into my crawler. In my full race spec B4 I have $800. In my 1/8 scale buggy I have about $1700. Do you really think it's cheap?
Like anything, you can get in as far as you want. You don't have to go that deep though.
Toss some quality electronics in this and even though it's a shaft drive, I might like it.
This definitly didnt come as a surprise to me. When I was at the Offroad Expo in Pomona, CA Losi was there because it is fairly close to their company. They let you drive their mini-rock crawlers and I asked the guy there something and he siad they will be releasing a 1/10 competation crawler soon.

i have seen the parts and all. but to get started and be competitive, crawling seems to be on the cheap end with RTR's ~300 and onroad cars are what?....300 maybe for a kit + everything else. my comment wasn't putting down crawling, hell i hope to have one next year but a slash comes first. and yes its expensive. i found that out already my first car is going to have (does have really) way too much into it already and it hasn't even hit the dirt yet.
i just think with a kit being 300+ that people are just going to buy the axial. which you can pull out of the box, and start crawling and its not lacking anything other than maybe some bent links.

If you are talking the RTR Axial you not going be comp'ing any time soon! This has plastic links everywhere & is great for running around in the yard. The ARTR is more of a complete rig for going to a meet but still needs a good set of shocks or at least body's & you still have to purchase a radio & it be a 3 channel if you want to run a DIG. I have a GC 2 chassis with Axial axles with a DNA/VF DIG & the Axial kit was $250.00 & i had to put around $50.00 per axle & the chassis was $99.00 & the DNA/VF DIG was $79.00 & not including the Vanquish Revolvers for wheels ($169.00) so i think the Losi is going to be a great deal for a out of the box crawler as all you need is electronics & a 3 channel radio (If you want to run the DIG that it comes with)
what do u guys think of the brushed stuff for crawling verses brushless? What about running a 3s vs 2s lipo for crawling? I'm going to have one of these losi crawlers after the first of the year. How about this servo for steering? http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...dID=JRPS8711HV thanks
