Please help with my Pipe dreams?
 

Wow....can anybody tell me what the difference is between a two chamber exhaust pipe and a single chamber pipe??? Is the single chamber pipe faster and/or more powerful?? I have a stock two chamber tuned pipe on my 1/8 scale buggy and am wondering if switching to a aftermarket single chamber tuned pipe and/or performance pipe will give me some extra power?? My buggy runs great and reliable, but kinda lacks the power I see on other more perfomance buggys. Will a new pipe give me some extra muscle??? Does anybody know if I can put a aftermarket pipe onto a stock rubber manifold??? I appearently can't use anything but this wierd rubber manifold. Currently my pipe is attached to the manifold by zipties. Any suggestions on good pipe for off the line punching power???? Any suggestions and comments will be greatly appreciated!!!!! Whoo Hoo!!!

i can answer some of your questions and people who know more will help you out as they see this thread.

yes aftermarket pipes will give you extra power and can change where the power band is on your buggy(or any engine). It will also have a different sound.

What do you mean by rubber manifold? picture? Is there a metal piece that attaches to the motor and then a rubber one that connects that to the pipe?

Thanks for the new forum link. The information was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunaltly, I can't switch to a 3-piece clutch. The rubber mainifold on my engine is connected to a small metal adapter to the rear of the engine. This particular engine does not have the standard rear port of most engines and thus cannot except most manifolds, except for the stock one it came with. I was thinking of getting an aftermarket pipe and using the rubber manifold as a coupler too, since couplers are attached by zipties as well. The rubber manifold is basically a big curved coupler, in the shape of a manifold, that attaches to the rear of the engine. Do you know if a two chambered pipe has less bottom end punch that a single chambered pipe??? Thanks!!!
