yep we have rental units too! 25 bucks gets you what you need and covers broken parts too!!! cant beat that

The track I race at the owner has two rental Slash trucks. We are getting alot of interest in it and a few guys have rented them. Can also rent them on a practice nights as well.

Sorry guys, this is a bit off topic, but it's the obvious place to ask...

We're starting a Slash Spec class at my local track next Feb (Slash's have only just officially been released here in Australia), and I'm wondering...

Tires. How do the old 2.2/2.2" tires behave on the track compared to the new 2.2/3.2" Slayer items supplied in the Slash these days. I ask, only for I have a V1 Slash I brought in earlier this year, and I'll be facing up to the new versions.

the newer offset tires "seem" to have less sidewall flex, and less sidebite. i run the offset tires up front and originals in the rear, but to be honest, i didnt notice ANY difference on the track i run on. i am basing my answer on what i have read elsewhere.

Trying to sell some things before I get my Slash but they look fun out on the track. What tires/wheels are working best for everyone? I was looking at Eight Shooters and Gladiators as its not going to be on the track too often.

spec is a dirty 4letter word.

at the end of the day experts usually find their way into the Amain regardless if their car is outta the box, or has been tweaked (legally of course). those were are a step behind are in what we call the Bmain.

sad that folks cant look at the mains as a race against others on their level. i'm tires of folks who think b/c they bought the truck, showed up to the track, paid their entry and charged their own battery that they have a right to win.
win? who cares, did u have fun. yeh there's always some1 faster and some1 who wastes far too much time tryin to work every 'grey area' to get the edge. the best drivers usually dont even need that.

on the flip side, those who work the rules in their favor, or those who try and get that edge or somethin that makes up for their driving... guess what u will help ruin the class by making it fun for no1 but urself. it'll die, and then ur moving on to help poison the next 'spec' class.

Spec Slash is awsome. STOCK everything EXCEPT the Radio if wanted. Bodies have to be Slash designed (Hardcore, Desert Rat, or Slash).

NOW for a mod class or even a Spec class I think a great way to limit upgrades would be to say TRAXXAS Upgrades only (no brushless, ball diff, speed controler)

Basically everything off this page with exception to the Velineon system, ball diff and XL-10

Haven't heard of a rule like this, but i don't think its THAT bad of an idea. But I MYSELF think it should be bone stock.

and if there was a MOD class with rules like these, i like the idea of the "Claim Rule" It keeps people in check in all levels of racing.

That's racing mate. Any form, the cream floats to the top. When you got something like a Slash (RWD, skinny tires, boaty) that's not a perfect race machine (even though I haven't "raced" it yet, it's easy to tell) there is 2 ways to drive it. Drive it, or drive it well.
When tuning is open, a B mainer can spend all the money they want, or don't have, still to get beaten by a guy who can set up a car with out throwing wasted parts that didn't help, but by a bigger margin.

Just my 2c.

One thing I'd like to see people add is allowing RPM gear covers.

Just got mine for our Slash's. It wont make me faster, but is nice having a sealed gear case keeping stuff out.

At least it's easy to change out.

Ok they make 27mhz in 12 channels 7-12 are international the X-mod craze had the other 6 channels. you could buy them at Radio shack but now I see them on E-bay every now and then. I've bought two sets and they work in other brand radios.

As far our rules for N.E.S.C.R.S. (North East Short Course Racing Series)

The Slash will remain stock out of the box with the following exceptions.

1. You may change shock oil.
2. You may use the stock slash body, The Proline Hardcore, or Desert Rat bodies, New ERA's CORR truck body, or the Parma Rattler body.
3. You may use up to a 6 cell 7.2v stick pack no higher then 4200mah nimh pack.
4. You may change Receivers.
5. All else must remain box stock.

This is what I got. After reading some of the posts here I may change or adopt some of these rules. I will bring them to the other members.
