how did you pitch it to them?
Its important as electric guys trying to get interest in the conversions to pitch the vehicles to nitro guys in a way that is non threatening.
Around here, I have made it a point to always state the following when I ask to participate:
- I am willing to always be placed last not to take someone's spot
- I am willing to not count for any points in the series
This has worked at a good amount of events. There are diehards for sure that are dead set, no electric with nitro as even with the requirements I listed above, that somehow the vehicle hurts the class in there eyes. I don't agree with it of course, but when going to there race, its there show, and I respect that.
You should seriously try pitching it that way. If they know you don't count, you will always be placed "last", more guys are usuallywilling to let you run.
And the main thing is getting the vehicle seen and out there.
