I will still be using a LRP. My buddy ordered a RS Pro, I want to see how it runs, I may have to get one

I have been running the RS Pro 10.5 in my EP TC since they were first released.
Haven't looked back since.
I think it's great that the esc is so tunable. Onboard as well as through the Hotwire for really fine tuning.
A big plus is the ability to update the software on the esc.
The updates have improved the performance of the esc.

i'll be running a tekin r1 esc + redline 537 motor in my B4. so what's an ideal pinion to mate with the kit 81t spur for a start?

Novak has the BEST tech support out of anyone. The turn around for repairs is 2nd to none. Plain and simple. Charlie Suangka is one of the coolest guys you will ever meet and the rest of the people there are just as cool.

The LRP is good also but the turn around isn't very good, based on my experience.

Never really tried the Tekin. I've driven a car that had the sensorless motor in it and it was pretty good.

Novak has great customer support, but the more I look into other brands, the more I think Novak is behind in the technology.

There are smaller, higher power handling, smarter ESC's out there. The downside is that they also come with a higher price tag.

The GTB is still a good all around setup, but the Tekin looks like it's going to be a better choice for off-road needs and the LRP is one of the top dogs for oval and touring. That's just the way it has panned out recently. The new Novak Havoc will likely end up competing with the Sidewinder for king of the entry level brushless systems with the edge going to it for being sensored.

I have dealt with LRP on several occasions for older brushed stuff and have always been happy with the quality and turn around they have provided.

Start with a 26 or so. Run it and see if your happy with the power and speed. Finally check temps.

i got a chance to run the new software in my rs pro and like randy said it was a great improvement on an already great product. the BEST thing about the tekin is the dual mode where the sensor wire can break or pull out and you can still finish the race. trust me anyone who gets one wont regret the purchase

Ran my B4 last night with a new RS Pro with 8.5, WOW the power.
I have too work on my setup on the buggy.

Randy-what speedo do you recommend we run a t4 with either a13.5, 10.5 or 7.5 with lipo and going to get into vintage t/a racing and touring car.And can you use the hot wire to set up the speedo?

I am not Randy.....but, I believe the RS is going to be your best bet. When you start getting into the 10.5, 13.5 and such motors, the RS gives you perfectly smooth sensored starts so you always have that peace of mind. Don't get me wrong I am not downplaying the R1. It too has greatly improved starts compared to the original software release....and yes, you can use Hotwire to update and fine tune either of them.

I bought the RSPro to hold me over until the KO comes out, and ran it this weekend...

After some setting tweaks, I got it feeling pretty good.

I ran a B44 (18T pinion and 84T spur) with the RSPro and Tekin 5.5.

When I first ran it, the motor was 120-30* and the speedo was around 150* after a 5 minute qualifier. After getting a fan on it, the motor was the same temp (obviously) and the speed dropped to no higher than 120*.

I was running with the Reedy 4800 20C lipo saddle pack, I just got the SMC 4900 25C lipo saddle pack, so I'll see if this changes anything.

Do you have the air scoop vent holes cut out just above the speed control? It makes a big difference.

Everything is cut out: scoop holes, front and rear areas that wrap around the chassis, everything...

Why? Is that hot?
I've been running 1/10th offroad for about 7 years, and I've never been able to touch a motor in a 4WD car after a 5 minute run until I ran this brushless system.

I've never put a temp gun on my Tekin, I alwayse went by the led's. After like 10 to 12 minutes with a R1pro and a 448 Redline I would be at led 6 usually with my BJ4WE.
