Default new guy, need rc10 info

hey yall i've had these old electric cars since i was 10 maybe it's a REALLY old RC10 that has been converted into a sprint car, i'd like to get it going again and the local hobby place just acted like they just wanted to sell me a new car. So first of all i have an aristo-craft challenger-2px radio can i use a futaba fp-r4h reciver in the car as long as the crystals match? also i need suggestions on a speed controler.

rc10talk is the place you wanna hang for help.

Your receiver may or may not work with the Aristocraft radio. Some have a different "shift". For example Futaba radios are negative shift so they are not compatible with Airtronics which are positive shift even if they have the same crystals. As for your speed controller, it depends if you have a wild motor and the depth of your wallet.
