Default New person entering the hobby

I was talking with someone earlier about RC and they were quite keen on jumping into it. They prefer a monster truck, electric and sold as a kit.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The only electric monster trucks kits that i know of are tamiya. Other than that you have electric monsters made by traxxas, losi, and hpi in rtr form.

Go to your local hobby shop and look at a Traxxas E Revo. It does not come in kit form but you will not find what you are looking for in kit form.

Are they looking to race? Or just play around in the yard....something else to keep in mind....

e-maxx or e-savage are your only alternatives. We will have an electric truggy soon that is 1/8 scale, but truggies do not look quite like monster trucks because of the added track width and wing on the rear.

They're looking to bash, nothing more. but they're insistent on a kit.

That really limits choices and raises the prices....

Most RTRs are cheaper to get into...

I would have to agree that Traxxas E-Revo is great way to enter the hobby. But its not a kit....

Tamiya makes a few kits....
