What Motor For A XXX-NT?
I am looking for a high performance .12 racing engine for my XXX-NT.

Can't go wrong with a CVR or an MT12.

Yes speedy Dave is correct however if you are going to get a mt-12 it is highly recomended to install a O.S. carb on it. If this is your first truck and you are new to offroad I would recomend a O.S. CV engine it is cheap and has more than enough power to race and it is very easy to tune and it is very forgiving.

Thanks for the input! Is the O.S. CV engine a rear exaust or side? Also the Mach engine that came with the truck has some power but I have had it for a year and the piston and sleve are toast and I decided it would be better to just get a better engine as opposed to just repairing the Mach Engine. I am not new to nitro will I be disapointed O.S. CV?

The CV is a side exhaust engine. I believe that the horsepower of the .12 CV-R is a little stronger than the .15 Mach but not much more. What you do get is a very good racing engine that puts out around one hp and is very reliable. It is also relatively easy to tune and holds the tune well.

I'll put in a vote for the OS .12TR, I have one in my GT and my brother has one in his XXX-NT. It is rear exhaust, bump start only. It's supposed to be a touring car motor but we have both found it to have a great power band for off-road. The MT-12 puts out a hair more power, but the OS's power band just seems to be so much more usable. Just over a horse with a very linear power band. Very reliable and easy to tune. Can you tell I like this motor?

i agree with speedy dave i would ether pick a mt 12 or a cvr

Get the TR over the CVR, besides the CVRs are going out of production right now so they are very hard to get. I've been waiting 2 months for mine! But it is an odd model...short shaft-pull start-slide carb-.15.
