When you buy a lipo via internet, they have to send it in the mail.... why cant you send it to?

because it swelled:rolleyes:

Why would you do that first. If the lipo is already false in any way they should replace it. unless you used it a lot.

just fully discharge it by plugging some 12v automotive bulbs into it,(like the deans discharger) and lay it in the drive way or do what i do and stick it in the grill! just make sure no one plans on firing up the grill!:), if its just puffed and not punctured it isn't totaly deadly especially if it is fully discharged,if you do soak it in saltwater it has to sit in there for days

and packs usually puff when you discharge them to quickly or to a very low voltage
for future reference

Sounds like he is worried that it could cause problems in the mail and doesnt want to have any problems. He is sending it in for replacement and wants to neutralize it.

If you do not need to send it back take it to your local Best Buy or Circuit City and they can dispose of it for you. If you need to send it back, best option is soak it in a bucket of water for a week to kill it.

yoshgixxer 10-23-2008 08:14 PM

discharge it first!

I think I would contact the place that told me to send it back, and ask how they would want the battery treated prior to shipment.

If you salt water it, some place might get it back and think WTF, we are not covering water damage under warranty
