new speed control for bandit vxl???

hi i have a bandit vxl and when i was out bashing today it just stoped going. well upon further inspection i noticed that the yellow ended wire had been disconected. you know the motor wire that conects to. the little copper sheeth on the esc, well that had broken off so there you have it, no power. so when i took apart the speed control. i noticed that there doesnt seem to be any way to repair it. now, whats a rather good esc i could buy for my vxl that will work w/ the velineon system. i dont really want to go w/ a new vxl-3s. im sort of looking to up-grade(is ther such a thing lol?).or am i being stupid and should just go w/ a new velineon esc. well i hope this hasnt been to boring and any advice will be appreciated.thanx, clay unruh

I like the Mamba Max a lot more than the VXL-3 but you can send your ESC back to Traxxas for repair. At worst they will charge you $45 and you will get a new design that has wires coming out of the ESC rather than the sockets in bedded in the ESC.

This is a known problem with vxl esc's. If you send it to traxxas they will give you a newly designed one with different wires. You can also fix it yourself and re-solder the gold connectors to the board. They have been prone to snapping off, thus the newly designed one.

1COUGAR1 the sockets breaking off of the circuit boards was a problem with a couple runs of the velineon esc's . contact traxxas customer service and they should replace it.
