Default mamba

Yes the mamba max can run bolth brushed and brushless motors. They can handle just about anything you want to throw at them motor wise I think you can run all the way down to a 5 turn brushed motor. They had a few issues when they first came out but the new stuff I havent had a problem since I started runing them and the customer support is awsome.

The run any Mamba series of brushless motors and brushed motors down to 5 turns with no problems. Now if you want to run other brushless brand motors like Orion, LRP, etc then you will have a little hesitation or cogging on the initial hit of the throttle.

Castle is always working on improvements and will continue to do so. Customer service is excellent via phone, email or from some of the team drivers that frequent this site.

I don't have all the answers but I do try to help and find out answers if I don't know.

Default mamba options

the mamba max is one of the most versatile esc's currently in the market. i know there will be many disagreements but, it is the computer program that sets it apart. here are some pics of an rc10gt converted to mamba max. the motor is a stock $5 exceed can. i run three cells which kicks the car to the mid-twenties, while running for 30 minutes straight. i do add cooling systems to all my mamba max esc's. this one has a 40edf ducted fan, the black windows are filters. the buggy has the mamba max 6900 and cooling fan, all under the body.

thank you for the answer to a question i have had for only a few hours. i'm picking up a 1/10 truck with mamba ESC and no motor. I only have LRP and Novak brushless motors to put in it. So is the hesitation very noticeable or nothing to really worry about?

I run an Orion 13.5 in mine and I'm fine during all the heat races since we do IFMAR starts. The problem I have is in the main and the initial start of the race where it hesitates. Once going it is fine. You will see this hesitation or cogging everytime you are at a complete stop. For the most part it is not a problem except where I mentioned. For basic bashing or just messing around at the track it is not a problem IMO at all.

I am looking into a mamba max 7700kV system for my tc4 clay late model. I am not sure I need all that power. Can that system be dialed down to match the 4600, 5700 or the 6900kV systems?
my novak 5800 system is just about right for this track. but if i go to a bigger track i may need more.

you should be able to adjust your radios Throttle end point to dial back the speed control At least we can for the Novak GTB systems.

This is not the best way to slow a system down. Get a slower motor, run fewer cells, or change the gearing.
