Default Losi XX gearing options!!!!

I have a Losi XX: 2.19:1 tranny, and 84 spur gear.

What gear would be recommended for each motor??

Trinity CO27--I've been told that for the CO27, keep it somewhere between 19 and 23 teeth pinion.

Novak Havok 8.5--novak recommends 9 FDR, so that would put me at 84T spur w/ 20T pinion.

I'm an average driver, smooth around the track and jumps, not too many crashes.

The track that I race at is nice and smooth hard packed, blue groove.

Suggestions, opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I've just finished building a XX just to see if it is able to run close lap times with the current crop of cars. I'll try to post gearing when I get it out on the track.

If you have a selection of pinions start with 18 or 19 , check motor temps and go from there .

I ran the XX in the sportsman against modern buggies and trucks and I did quite good with it, It kept up with no problems, I'm moving up a class to amateur, and I need to maximize my gearing to stay competitive.

The track is on the small size, so big power is not too much of a factor, driver skill is more important.
