I have ran my 501x anywhere between 75 -90 times racing + a bunch of practice. I have broken 1 arm, that is it.
As any regular at OCRC could testify too, I am by no means a clean driver.
My experience driving before the 501x consisted of about 9 races with a B4 in Amateur class.
This thing has taken countless hits with no effect. The broken arm was due to my battery dumping and I became a sitting duck for another buggy (4wd modified) to clip me at FULL speed.
The 501x is bomb proof. My buddy's 501x has been raced WAY more than I have had time for, he has yet to break a single part. This is not an uncommon story among 501x owners.
They are beautiful looking cars to boot!

Kyosho ZX-5 Readyset RTR. You can get it for about $200.
It's not at the B44 race level but can be with all the Kyosho zx-5 SP and FS parts available.

Actually, I have one and it is currently my practice car while my Durga is my primary car. Great car to learn from but you do need to replace stock electronic running parts in order to be slightly more competitive. Drivetrain is fine and you don't have to touch them for awhile.
Definitely the best 200 bucks I ever spent on a buggy and it's an RTR, too! (I got 10% off from CarolinasRC.com plus some wheels and shipping where it ended up being like 215 and change. Not bad, eh?)

you cannot beat the quality of the b44.. the initial cost is more but you will money ahead in the long run..

Yeah, I don't know about that one. The "new" black box Associated stuff and the B44 (being a "new" Associated) has all gone down hill. From the shock shafts, bearings, hinge pins, wheels, diff gears, shock ends, its all of lesser quality than the older kits. The B44 is a great ride and a pretty nice kit-but I frankly don't think the quality is anywhere near the 501x, or the zx5 sp. I haven't seen or driven the D4 up close but that thing looks like a quality piece.

I have a brand new xxx-4G+ for sale on here, i can throw in a lrp speedo and an orion motor. These buggies are still good, ill give you some set-up sheets too and if you want a one-way i could give that to ya as well eventhough i find the car works better without it. link. http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...4g-roller.html
