What is the best servo for racing a stock brushless motor in a t4?

What kind of budget do you have, cost can be the main limiting factor for servos. You dont need the best servo in the world but a good one can make a world of difference!

Budget is not a real problem but my lhs carries hitec and airtronics servos only. These are the main brands i think though so i guess that doesnt matter.

Well IMHO in 1/10th scale truck you dont need TONS of torque nor TONS of speed but either one does help. That being said I have a few tried and tue suggestions;

Airtronics:
94357 120 .07 $100
94358 200 .10 $100
You cant go wrong with either one! But it will cost you dearly

Hitec;
5985 172 .13 $90

JR;
9100S 180 .06 $115

I am sure there are mor, and others are sure to chime in on this one!

Airtronics over hitec, they seem to center better.

Airtronics are good, they cost alot, but dont last very long.

I have bought 3 hitecs in the last 2 years and no trouble at all, even in 1/8 th scale nitro. Have not had to send a hitec in for service.

So far I have sent 2 Airtronics in cause they burn up.

But its always up to ones opinion.

Hitec has been good to me, so I keep buying them!

I have tried all of them and I choose to run JR 9100s in my 1/10th cars. Simply the best!

Well that's your opinion. I've got Airtronics servos that I have been running for 8 plus years and never had a problem. I have also purchased new ones over the years for additional vehicles and haven't really had any problems outside of a stripped gear here or there. (Stripped gears being mostly my fault)

Any of the servos listed above would work well for you in a T4. I prefer the faster servos for steering. I know Hitec makes some that are just as fast as the airtronics. Just not sure what the model number is. I do know that Hitec has a longer warranty than the airtronics.

Regardless of what you end up getting one of the keys to making sure you get a long useful life out of your servo is setting up your end points properly. If they have to much throw you will bind the servo every time you turn the wheels to full lock.

See what you started by opening up a "apples vs. oranges" thread? Nobody agrees and they never will because everyone has an opinion, and whatever it is that they currently use is what they'll profess is "the best."
But the truth is that there is no answer that is set in stone, most name brand companies offer similar products that are priced in the same ballpark - but I always have tried to go by the rule of thumb to figure out your budget and then get the highest grade/cost electronc item I can afford and then try to stick with that brand as you get used to how they work.
What I use are HiTech servos, but my only advice would be to obtain the one with the highest torque rating that fits in your truck especially since you're racing on dirt. Racing stock or modified should have no bearing and make no difference in your final decision.

good luck

another consideration is their service! Some companies are better with replacing or fixing electronics than others. I would tell you who i think is the best at this but i dont feel like getting picked apart by a bunch of professionals. check your pm's!

Well I have the Hitec listed above and it does all I want it to, but thats just my opinion.

The airtronics servos are awesome, but the customer service is VERY slow and charge insane rates! But again thats just my opinion.

I have sent Hitecs in too and they just show up fixed... No problems there.
But I am sure someone will chime in with an opinion about Ace servos even though they are the same as the AE servos. I have heard they are very good and very price competitive!

Its truly an Apples Vs. Oranges debate...
Just like the "Best battery" or the "Best motor"
These can go on and on and on.....
