In all honesty when a person who is signed up to race and does not turn marshall or have someone out there in his place. (we do that for each other here when the person has to work on something to be ready for next race) then their best race for the day needs to be thrown out. plain and simple. It will cure the turn marshalling problem in a hurry.

Everybody should absolutely turn marshal and put forth their best effort. Turn marshaling is the price of admission to race unless you'd like to pay a bigger entry fee and have dedicated turn marshals.

Many of the things I see that could be better about r/c racing could easily be fixed by better organization (posted and easy to understand rules, regulations, and requirements). Turn marshaling requirements (and punishment) should be added to the posted rules.
