Best brushless

Is the Mamba or the Velineon better? If i were going to get it, i would be putting it in a slash. With lipo. Also which would be the best kv rating of mamba motors. OR should i jsut go with the Mamba ESC and Velineon motor? i heard that was a good combo. LMK

IMO the Mamba is better. I have heard of some people having problems with the Velineon. Someone at my track had the Mamba Max 7700 in his slash and it was out of control. Which KV are you planning on going with?

I don't have much experience with the Velineons, but I can attest to Mamba Maxs. Castle Creations make some really good, no-bullshit products! I personally use the 5700Kv + MM combo, but I wish I bought the 4600Kv motor instead... Having too much power works against you...

Lrp sphere all day. Such a pleasure to drive !:D

i run the velineon with sidewinder combo. the only reason i went that route was cause i wanted a 35ookv rating that castle doesnt offer. i didnt want the speed due to the track i run is small and technical, but the torque is nice. barly have to pin the throttle to get over major jumps.

Drift_Buggy 09-01-2008 07:10 PM

Go mamba over velineon anyday. Only problem is that the smallest mamba 1/10 motor is 4800kv, but if I had the choice of all 1/10 combos I would go with the Tekin R1 Pro/Redline Combo. There is alot of redline kv motors availiable to
9,000 kV 7,800 kV 6,800 kV 6,200 kV 5,800 kV 4,800 kV 3,700 kV 3,200 kV

Amainhobbies seems to be the cheapest place to get them

I run a Mamba Max with a 5700 in my XXX-CR and love it. All Ill buy anymore if i can help it. Had a 7700 but was too much motor for a 2wd buggy

I run on my practice losi xxxcr buggy a Excelerion 6400 system geared @ 23/78 i'll take any help with the gearing though! Actually was thinking about running mod with this!had it out front of the house today and it was pulling wheelies ten feet after it started the run, holy chit almost back flipped a few times!:lol::lol::sneaky:

My pro-stock buggy has an LRP Sphere 07 comp 13.5.My wheeler has a GTB w/6.5 motor!:nod::D

VXl=Crap
Sidewinder 4600=FTW

At least on my slash. The 4600 is better all around, more off the line, substantionly more top speed (with same gearing), more run time. Its just worlds better and cheaper to boot!

Exterminator 09-01-2008 08:52 PM

Do you want a light switch speed control that does lot's of wheelies and is good for running up and down the street or do you want a competition ready speed control with tunability for track conditions.

If you want to race and be in control go with the Tekin.
If you want wheelies and wheelspin go with the others mentioned.
