Default Noob Battery Question

Let me begin by apologizing for my noobish-ness. I have been out of R/C for 15 years and am now getting back in and i assume that much has changed in my absence.

I use to run beginner class stuff, fairly successfully, with my rc10 and rustler back in the day and have decided on an EMaxx for its durability and water resistant components.

My question to you experts is: what brand/model of battery would be recommended for this truck for, at first, run time and then, after I've gotten accustomed to the speed/handling, racing in a stock-class. And what charger comes highly recommended? I would really appreciate a response for both "money is not object" and a good pick for cost vs. performance. And I don't see lipo as an immediate necessity although I would buy a charger that would handle lipo for future use.

I swear I have been combing the forums looking for the answer before posting and wasting your time. I just can't find a very solid answer

I sincerely appreciate your help and look forward to your answers.

well , i have a question for you . Does your track race electric monster trucks ? Really never see it in my area . Are you looking for matched packs or just stick packs ? Many manufactures have 5000 mah and above which is great for run time . I prefer SMC batteries , but any name brand will do you good .

Lipos are great and glad I made the switch . If you plan to go lipo sometime , I highly suggest getting Orion lipos from stormer hobbies , best prices around .

For now, I'll just race in the open/amateur stock class which includes any factory stock set up.

It really doesn't matter as for matched or stick - just need some advice on what to get in order to get going and not be unhappy with my selection of batteries and charger.

thanks for the help!

1 or 2 orion 3800 7.4v 30c lipo's with the hyperion dual charging w/balancing charger.

Dialed!!! You are good to go for a year at least.

Or you could just get a single charger......

Look cheap... http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=7028

In lipo batteries, i would suggest Orion if you want the Kokam cells and Trakpower if you prefer Enerland cells. Both are about the highest quality lipo cell you can buy and offer outstanding performance.
