motor/speed control
Hi
Just digging through load of old gear and found team orion havok 13 turn motor. Have not been involved with rc for some years now and a little out of touch with electronic side of things. Advice please. Will this motor be ok to use with tamiya TEU-101BK speed controller. Was thinking about changing standard 540 in new style hotshot for the above set up. Will it be ok. Can anyone suggest some good reading on motor/speedcontroller set ups.

No, the Tamiya ESC is only suitable for Tamiya supplied silvercan and at a push Tamiya Sport Tuned motors.
