Default Good Charger and Battery for Rustler VXL?

Hi Guys,

I dont have good experience with this charger and Battery.

I have a Traxxas Rustler VXL and I need to buy a charger and battery (7 Cell 8.4 Volt or 8 Cell 9.6 V) and mah should be between about 3600 to 4600 mah.

I need something which is not costly but powerful and most importantly durable also. Please suggest me and there is one important thing that the Charger should be able to charge 4600mah packs because its a debating issue on many forums that MRC brain 960 is capable of charging 4600 mah packs or not.

PS: I am not planning to go for Lipos right now so I need Charger that can charge NIMH batteries as it would be cheaper obviously than the Lipo compatible chargers.

If you want a Brand New cheap good charger I recommend a Piranha peak digital charger.Im guessing you want an ac/dc charger.

I have a few and have never had a problem with them.

Do what's best for your budget, but the 4.5 amp max on that charger will leave you wishing for more. It should be able to charge the 4600 cells, but it's going to take awhile. Also, brain chargers are infamous for false peaking when charging at max capacity on AC, they seem to work OK off DC input though.
