x2... I run the Tekno Kit on my RC8 and Losi 8T, and love it. The battery tray is a very minimal, and doesn't bother me at all.

I would rather have the new trays if that is on the way than the older design. Not likes its a rush or anything, my RCPD and RCM conversions work fine, but if I am going to go with another conversion, I want the latest and greatest. Sort of like waiting a few weeks to get the latest clutch setup versus getting the old one if there is no rush.

Hey,
I am really interested in the Tekno RC Edition Neu motors but I am a little confused by all of the choices.... What criteria do you use when selecting a motor besides KV ratings? I will not be racing this buggy but will be primarily using it on the track....

Thanks in advance

After looking at my conversion I still dont think those larger packs would work on the rc8 tray, If you dremel the back of the tray you will wind up hanging the pack over the rear arm, not good.....

If a change to make the tray slightly longer is on the way to better fit the pack, and maybe alittle more side wall, I would like to get in on this if I go with a tekno conversion.

lastly, For those with the tekno conversion and a Nomadio react radio, are there any issues with getting the mechanical brakes to work?
That pack is 166.5 mm long. Im sure that pack wont fit no matter what kind of tray they make.

With that said Im 90% sure that I have seen TeknoRC post that the new tray was NOT for the RC8.

Hello,

Correct, the new tray will not be compatible with the RC8 or 8B 1.0 buggy conversions. It IS compatible with all of our other kits and all future kits (8B/T 2.0).

I know that the older (V1) 6000mah 25C Enerland cells can just fit in the RC8, I've seen it at our local track. Perhaps I was mistaken on the cell that was used, but I am almost certain it fits. Cain, you mentioned that it did not fit, was it the tray that it didn't fit (it doesn't fit the old tray) or did it not fit at all in the RC8?

The new V2 6000mah 25C cells are even longer (168mm) and do not fit the RC8, but should fit every place else. The RC8 is really tight on space for some reason. It handles great though.

The new tray is 165x52mm (ROAR spec) with the low walls. The low walls allow some cells up to 170-175mm to fit. The straps are what holds the battery in with our setup rather than the tray itself. This makes for a light weight tray with a super low center of gravity. The new 8B/T 2.0 actually has the new tray sunken into the chassis 1.5mm. This puts the bottom surface of the battery at 1mm above the chassis

8B/T 2.0 are still a few weeks away. We will start pre-orders when we have a definitive release date. They are our best effort yet.

Hi Teknorc,

I almost bought the Losi brushless conversion, but I think it'd be best to just save the money and wait for your kit What do you recommend as far as motor kv, battery, # clutch tooth, and spur gear for the 8 T 2.0E that would be ideal for ARC raceway?

i run the 1.0 at arc
the gearing i run is 15/48 with a mmm 2200 on 4s 6000 i make the 15 mains with ease actually i did a 15min main and still had 1500mah left in the pack you can change the spur on the 2.0 to a 48 (i think it comes with a 50) and run a 15 or 14 on the pinion and with my set up you will get just about the same run time. i would strongly suggest waiting for the tekno kit to come out. i will never buy a different conversion kit again hands down great products with a low price. save you money and buy the real deal, TEKNO for the win.
keep in mind my set up was on a budget so i based it around the mmm 2200kv motor this is the reason i run 4s, imo it is the best bang for your buck setup.

Does mmm mean mamba monster? If so, what part of your setup was on a budget again? Anyway, I'm still trying to understand the relation between voltage to kv to gearing ratio. Now, you mentioned that after a 15 min. main you still had 1500mah left. At what point does performance start to degrade? If I wanted longer run times, should I switch over to 5s or even 6s?

By the way, what happened to the 8T 2.0 last Saturday? I even volunteered to turn marshall just to see it run

yes a mmm is the Mamba monster. the power does not decrease until right before low voltage cut off. 15-20min is the norm runtime with these cars. you would be surprised to know that some electric motors can cost up to 300 bucks and the mamba monster combo is only 280.00. as for the T 2.0 the front cvd came out of the center diff. dan said it is mostly caused by the weak prototype chassis flexing to much and landing hard on the front end doesn't help very muchthis won't happen on the production models because they are made of high quality materials. iknow i have landed so hard i broke a front diff case and the cvd's stayed in, even though i hit the red barrier

i kept my mouth shut and raced my race, with a bent shock shaft my right front shock would not move it was bent so bad. happened right after the big triple on the first lap, even came in to the pits because my body was so smashed in. poped it back out and ran the rest of the race on three wheels. and nothing broke on my tekno kit
