New Car
Hey guys. I need some advice. I am in the market for a new 1/10th scale truck to use as my travel car/mod truck class racer. The problem is that I don't know what to get. I am going to get either a Traxxas Slash, an HPI E-Firestorm 10T, a Losi Desert Truck, or a Traxxas Bandit VXL. Any truck I get will be upgraded with a VXL brushless system soon after I buy it. I need opinions on durability, parts availability, and performance.
Thank you very much.

What kind of truck are you looking for? Do you want a slash/desert truck-type of vehicle or do you want a stadium type of truck like T4/XXX-T?
My own preference, if I would to buy a stadium truck, I'd buy either a RC10T4 or a Team Losi XXX-T MF2, the choice would depend on which parts the on-site hobby shop stocks more, AE or Losi parts...

It doesn't really matter what class the truck is, I just need something that will be good for both bashing and racing, will be easy to fix, and has capability on different types of terrain. I would also consider a Kyosho Lazer ZX5.
So the choices are:
Traxxas Slash
Traxxas Bandit VXL
HPI E-Firestorm 10T
Kyosho Lazer ZX5 RTR
Losi Desert Truck
Thanks again.

The only one of those that is good for both racing and bashing is the traxxas slash, but you will only really be able to race it in Slash races, not mod truck.

Like Tom said already, even if you only plan to be racing it 1/4 of the time, forget everything else and get a T4 or XXXT or maybe the Kyosho. Theres enough manufacturer and community support to make those 3 trucks as durable as they are fast.
If you're not racing any of the other you have listed would be great.
I think the EFirestorm is a nice compromise basher/racer type vehice. And the Flux version includes a Castle Sidewinder 4600 brushless system. I've seen a few Nitro Firestorms and they are really tough and perform reasonably well.

Thanks for the advice. I am leaning towards either the E-Firestorm or the Kyosho Lazer ZX-5. Whichever one I get I will put a VXL brushless system. So, with that said, the choices are:
HPI E-Firestorm 10T
Kyosho Lazer ZX-5
Your opinions are greatly appreciated.
