Tamiya TRF 501x - brushless setup
Who has a 501x and is running brushless?
I'd LOVE to see some pics of how you set it up. I'm running a LRP TC and I can't figure out a setup that lets the body fit like it's supposed to. Any guidance would be appreciated. I've got the ESC directly behind the motor, with the wires facing the outside edge... the power capacitor is just kind of hanging there, as there is nothing to mount it to and the leads are too short. Anybody out there with one of these cars and a brushless setup???? |
It is not a LRP but this is how I ran mine. I tried it with the speedo behind the motor, it was ok but could no run a fan. This configuration allows the use of a fan and the body fits without issue.

So F'n frustrated.
So you just answered my other question from the Radio / Electronics forum See Here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=229649 So apparantly the new 2.4GHZ stuff is not affected by the brushless motors. My OLD FM HiTec receiver can not be anywhere near the motor. So your setup is exactly how mine was, until I tried to turn the car on and almost lost a finger. Dude, seriously this has been a nightmare. I really appreciate your time to post up and especially with the photos. |
i think its in r/c driver or r/c car action but they tested the 501x with a LRP b/l setup
perhapps try and find it in the archives on their website |
