I will get the black grease then. But why is it soo much better than the Losi diff grease because my LHS is like 30 miles away.

HERE! Is that easy enough for ya? You seem to want to argue the fact of what people are trying to HELP you out with. If you dont believe everyone, or just dont want to spend the three bucks then just use the Losi synthetic lube. You've probably already scuffed the balls and put flat spots on them already, so at this point I dont think it really even matters what kind of grease you put on them. And to answer your question the black grease clings to the balls better and doesn't break down as quick as other lubes. The thrust bearing carries a high axial load so it needs a heavier grease thats not going to get slung off the bearing.

I just wanted an explanation of how it works.
BTW I havent ran my truck since I put the pro drivers kit in.

If you have the Losi grease on hand, use it. Get some AE Black in the mean time. When you do your preventative maintenance (disassemble, clean, inspect, re-lube and re-assemble) switch to the AE Black.
There is an excellent "how to " a few posts earlier on cleaning the diff.

So it wont make much of a difference for a couple of runs? I'm just kinda concearned because I am going to a track next week and I dont want to ruin my thrust balls.

The Losi lube will work fine, the AE Black seems to take the pressure better. Neither will last forever, disassemble, clean and re-lube will be required. I try to do mine every three race days. But get the AE grease when you can.

ok, thanks. And I clean my diff very often. I think I have only around 20 runs on my MF2 and i have took apart and cleaned the diff 3 times!

Don't forget to change the diff nut, they only maintain their lock ability for a couple uses.

Do they last any longer?
Ok.. I looked at the website and can see the logic in "flatter" precision rings.. but um... $10?! Do they last any longer? Carbide diff balls tear up stock rings in a dozen runs or so... I use ceramic diff balls and they will tear them up even sooner... (btw.. I'm on month 6 of racing every weekend on the same diff balls)
For $2 a set of stock rings on my Losi BK2.. each rebuild I do feels as smooth as glass... My ceramic diff balls cost me less than the carbide..
I guess if you have money to burn.. go for it! Personally I'd rather have a new set of tires!
Please let me know how long they are lasting for you.. I am very interested.. just not sure about the value...
