So I want to build an 1/10 truck, I want another class to race to make the race days go by faster.. I was looking at building an X60.. I have read through pages of posts and looking at pictures. What's they best way to build an x60? Am i better off starting with a T4 roller or piecing it all together off RCtech and ebay with the x60 kit? I am little confused on the xfactory website as to what comes with the kit..

Thanks in advance..

It is probably better to get a FT roller. By the time you piece together all the front end parts, gearbox parts, CVDs, shocks, turnbuckles, etc, it will probably come out to more.

On the kits page of www.xfactoryrc.com there's an info link next to each kit that explains precisely what comes in each kit, and what parts are needed to finish the car/truck. There are even lists of what B4/T4 parts are NOT used on the X Factory cars. If you're still not sure you can look through the instruction manuals here for a detailed look at the build of an X - 6 Squared or X - 60.

I actually put my X-60 together from parts. Avid RC sells bearings for a buck a piece, most people sell new AE parts real cheap on eBay. AE even sells the complete diff as a kit, it's like 30 bucks. While you're doing it, you can buy shocks from another company if you don't like AE shocks. I have Kyosho shocks on mine. You could even buy some of the aluminum T4 parts if you wish.

The battery tray is nominally 48.25mm wide, 139.15mm long, and in the stock configuration 20.35 mm tall. The battery brace is easily raised using some washers to be however tall is needed. The height and length dimensions are based of ROAR's specs and any approved pack should sit in the chassis well; the battery hold down is snug on "smaller" packs like the Orion 3200, 4800, SMC 4000, etc. If the pack has 'bumps' on the bottom those will fit nicely down into the chassis.

It would be very hard to make a 4wd truck out of an X - 60, and I've not seen anyone try it. Also, I don't think some of the geometry, especially of the T4 front end, would not lend itself to 4wd performance very well.

I'm not sure exactly as I've not run a 19T brushed motor in a long time, and certainly not in the X - 60, but here's where I'd start: take whatever gearing you're using or is recommended for the T4 and drop one pinion size from there. So if the T4 manual recommends a 19T pinion gear, I'd start with an 18 and go from there. Perhaps someone else can comment further?

Good luck! The X - 60 should just be dialed for oval . Let us know how it goes!

19t turn gearing, THINK BIG. Buggy 22-24. A little smaller on truck, truck tires act like a bigger pinion gear, relative to buggy tires. I personally ran a 23! With a 10.5 brushless. I recently went brushless, so at first all I had was 6.5 . I like not cutting motors, with the brushless. But fact is I am used to the noise of a brushed mod. I will probably go brushed for the next JBRL. Jimmy Babcock Racing League is the replacement series for the N.O.R.C.A. (a ROAR rival in the 80's, and 90's) racing series in Southern California.

In the JBRL I run My X-60 in Mod Truck. I want to run the American made X-60 against the Kyosho trucks coming out. I am currently 5th in the points. The Kyosho guys are runnig T-4's. They do not have Kyosho trucks in full production yet. The X-60, and Kyosho trucks were prototypes at the nationals. The X-60 is out !!! Its fast !! Kyosho is not out. The RB-5 apparently haz Lazer A arms (it was not scratch built from a fresh sheet of paper, but a 2wd brother to a 4wd). There is two races, the race in the pits, and naturally the race on the track. I say the X Factory has won the race in the pits to get the X-60 truck out. And it is well done. The new tranny is first rate. The key is put a fresh top shaft if you are converting an "older" T-4.

Next stop Pegasus Hobies. Brushed I'm thinking 12-2, traditional 18-19 pinion 750r 81 spur. Singing the song "No more mister nice guy....." Heading into the next races (I am super clean, but my buddy has been getting hit, HIT in stock). So that is the joke. No more mister nice guy !

What batteries are people using ? How much does the truck weigh ?

X-60 5th in Mod truck X-6 12th in 19t buggy, no more mister nice guy!!

Any actual kits in the works instead of a pricy version kit?
