NEW JConcepts molded 1/10th buggy tire insert
Sorry to the JConcepts guys, but i figured if this thread got enough attention from people that maybe you guys would consider making them. I personally think that the foams for 1/10th scale buggies SUCK, they are too big (not just your And-1 foam, but all foam), and not even close to the right shape. They make gluing up a set of tires hard, unless you trim off the inside and outside edges, which can never be done perfectly. Resently I bought a Tamiya Durga, and the kit tires came with molded inserts from GRP (but GRP doesn't sell the inserts separately you have to buy the Tamiya kit tires @ $9.99 a set). Guess what? Those tires were the easiest set of tires to glue that I have done in 15 years in this hobby, and they worked really good too. PLEASE consider making some 1/10th scale buggy molded inserts (4wd Front too). How does everyone else feel about this?

if ya made some tires and foams that did not need triming that would be great

If Jconcepts tires came with molded inserts I would definately consider them much more often than any other brand. Plus you could use those molded inserts in tires from other manufacturers, which would be wicked.

I would rather see pre-mounted tires from JConcepts. They sell Tires, Inserts, and wheels....lets get those guys some glue!

I have requested this (molded inserts for 10th scale off road) from all of the manufacturers and none of them have stepped up and produced one yet. :sneaky:

Pre-trimming regular foams would add $$$ to the production cost as I don't think there is an easy way to do it when they are made.
A lot of companies keep mentioning molded 10th scale buggy, hopefully someone steps it up and actually produces them. |
Awww man... I got all excited when I read the topic. Now I find out it was just a teaser! Anyway, I think it would be cool to see molded inserts for 1/10 buggy (2wd and 4wd).

Molded inserts are long overdue in off-road buggies - I think they use them in 1/8th already too ? |
My Jconcepts tires seem to work fine without trimming the foam inserts.

Come on everyone this thread had over 400 views in a day and a half. There is definately a demand for molded inserts, but what we need isn't just thread views, we need thread post, so if you haven't already posted and are interested just throw a +1 in here. The more intrest people show the more likely JConcepts will do something about it. |

I was planning on going the Tamyia insert (toss tyres out) JC tyre route, but I'd rather just buy JC pre-mounts with a molded insert! |
