Just got around to putting my 7.5 HV in my buggy the other day and I noticed the ESC comes pre-wired for (2) lipos/batteries. Is it putting the pack in series then, taking my 7.4's and making them 14.8's?
The ESC internally connects the two batteries in series.

I was racing in 100 DegF today with my 7.5HV, 6 min races, and straight after the race the ESC was 155-160 DegF., Motor 135 DegF.
I just measure the Heat-sinks under the Fan, Fan running.
I was reading on another thread in RC Tech where they reckon it is also good to have forced cooling onto the solder tabs of the ESC (where all the wires are soldered on) as this is a good heatsink area aswell.
I have put (6) 1/2" holes in my front window and (4) exit holes at the back of the roof with fly mesh glued behind and it appears to have helped with reducing temps a bit as my ESC was about the same temp last race day when the air temp was about 77 DegF.
After coming off a jump today and my Car coming to a sudden stop, it would not go and the RED LED at neutral was off. Everything looked ok so I turned the power switch off and then back on again and everything worked well, any ideas what this could have been?
Also a couple of times in the day I noticed the RED LED at neutral was dipping momentarily in brightness for about a 1/10th of a second every couple of seconds, didnt effect the car at all, any ideas?

I would suspect that your switch slid to the off and shut the power off or you have a loose connection somewhere which could also explain the other problem with the LED flickering. Another problem could be a bad servo that is shutting down the internal voltage regulator. Intermittent problems like you are having a very hard to diagnose and /or fix with out sending the unit back in. If it is with a bad battery(s) connectors or servo this is something that you will have to figure out as this would not show up if you sent just the ESC and motor in for repair. I hope this helps.

I am looking to convert to electric, I was wondering if i use the losi electric conversion kit will the novak hv pro system bolt right up?
Yes, it should bolt right in. As long as Losi is using the Standard 550 bolt pattern on the motor mount. You might have to get creative with the HV ESC though.
I am looking at converting my RC8 to brushless for the Silver State race in April. I have been trying to decide what brushless system to go with in my 1/8 scale. I run Novak brushless esc and motors in all my 10th scale cars but have been reluctant to run the HV system in my 1/8 scale because of what I've read on various forums. Very few people are "racing" with the HV system because of heating problems. I know you can't beleve everything you read and I would love to run the HV system because all of my 10th scale cars have run great with the Novak systems for the last two years. I'm looking at running the 7.5 system. Is there anyone out there racing with this set up in there car that can sell me on it?
