Default Replacing servo gears.

I have a Hitec hs-311 it comes with plastic gears. Does anyone know if I ordered metal gears for the HS-645 if they would fit on the 311.

Sorry - never tried that one. I have tried a few servo gear swaps and there are always subtle differences between gear tooth counts and diameter that prevent them from working correctly in any servo but the one they were made for. My advice is to just buy a new metal gear servo

The Hitec website doesn't list the 311 as being compatible with that gearset, so probably isn't worth trying. Even if it did work I think that the servo would give up some power and speed turning those heavier metal gears, and it doesn't really have all that much torque as-is. Best bet is to just save-up for a Hitec HS-645MG or Futaba S3305 and get both benefits of increased torque and the durability of the metal gears.
