Default b44 spur float?

My b44 spur gear doesn't lock in very well inside the slipper. I can basically slide it a few mm from center. It seems there is some room for a bushing or bearing in the inner ring of the spur gear. Is my spur gear faulty or is there a piece I'm missing? It doesn't seem to call for anything in the instructions.

The float is causing some problems with gear mesh.

The spur gear is worn causing the movement. I've only seen that happen when the slipper is run real loose, causing the slipper shaft to enlarge the hole. A new spur gear should fit on the slipper shaft with almost no movement from side to side. Try a new gear and see if that helps.
