With the mess, time , and funky side effects.... I still can't figure why acetone is popular. Must the fumes you guys like.

I've done acetone and boiling, and don't like either.

Baking is so easy and simple... and it's the quickest too, and doesn't "do" anything bad. It just works.

btw, it doesn't stink up the house bad, at least the tires I have done...

Agreed! For what my oven cost me, I wouldn't even think of doing this if there was the slightest chance of messing the oven up.

I usually do it when I break a rim and the tire is still really new. Seems to happen more with onroad wheels than offroad.

yes, i mean re-use the tires. I have about a dozen sets of new tires on losi rims & I'm not going to be running a losi this season. How do I take the tires off w/out messing them up? Losi has gone to crap so I'm trying something else now.

You did read all the responses here, right? There are some really good suggestions. It all depends on what you're willing to do, how long you're willing to wait, and if you care about noxious fumes or not.
