Default Quick Disconnect between motor and speed control

Hello
I will be running in a brushless 13.5 and a brushless 10.5 class in Off Road 1/10 scale with the same vehicle. I would like to be able to switch without having to solder constantly. I have seen connectors from Castle Creations that look like they will do the trick. Does anybody have any recommendations on what product to use and how the best way to accomplish this?

thanks for any further information

Well, you can spend $10 a set on Astro-Flight 3 pin zero loss connectors or do what I did and use Deans plugs. Some people have taken two deans plugs and glued them together after cutting one pin off. I tried that with one set and concluded that it would a hard to make multiple matching sets.

So I decided to use one complete pair per each of the three wires. From the ESC I connect A & B to the two pins of a female end and C to one pin of a male end. On each motor, I connect A & B to the two pins of a male end and C to one pin of a female end. It isn't as clean looking as if you glued two plugs together and cut a pin off, but it works and has the advantages of being relatively inexpensive and using exactly one whole male/female set for each end of the ESC wires and each motor, no matter how many motors you have.

Castle has a new 4mm gold connector that is very nice. Much better than what comes on the MM, whcih are crap.

The male end is a solid piece... not a pin with a flimsy spinning spring thingy. Anyway... it's a good option now. I have them on my motor/esc wires in my 4wd buggy and it's working great. I need to get more...

Most people use these...

and these....

They are designed to make up connections to brushless motors so they have a very low profile. (not very long)

A lot of the 4mm connectors are considerably longer than the 3.5 mm connectors.

I like powerpoles and use them wherever I can so I tried them first, but I though the Deans were less bulky for the three wires.

Default Castle connections

I like the castle connections. You do solder those don't you?
Also how do you cover them up so they don't short out to each other?
Do you end up shrink tubing them once their connected? Or do they
come witha plastic sleeve like bulet connectors. I am surprised deans
has not come out with a 3 wire connector yet. Big market for deans there.

Yes,

short pieces for the male ends which go on the motor's leads just to cover the solder joint. Longer peices for the female ends which go on the ESC leads to cover the entire connector. CC Bullets don't come with the shrink tubing so have to get that seperate.

I wasn't getting a good connection with the barrel spring style bullet connector that came on my brushless motor so i replaced with the CC Bullets and all is well now.
