T3 Setup Questions

Ok, I got a T3 truck from a friend of mine yesterday. He said it started out life as a B3 and he converted it... I'll post pics later when I get home.

Anywho... it's got a Green Machine 19 turn [i think... I know it's a green machine, not sure # of turns] motor in it, and I was wondering what the best [and cheapest] way to get it to go fast was?

And has anyone put a brushless system in their T3? I'm starting to save for a brushless setup for my T3 or my TC3... but I haven't decided which is getting it.

The Green Machine is a stock motor, and like any stock motor they have 27T ( T= turns ). They also use bushings instead of bearings which are found in a Modified motor. A modified motor is the way to go if you want speed but things will run a bit hotter and run time will decrease. A 15T mod motor in a T3 with the stock gearing or can hit a good 30mph+. Also, I think on someone had a BL system in their T3 or Rustler on some other site as well as a TC3. The TC3 I saw was VERY fast but it needed 10cells to achieve such speed and the batteries did get scorching hot. Dont let this discourage you from buying a BL system. In the long run it will save you cash since it requires little or no maintainance. BTW, here's a site (belonging to a friend of mine on another BB) and he has some videos of his T3. Look for the one that shows it with a 15T motor for the link name. When your done watching, you'll get an idea of how fast your truck will go with a similiar motor and gearing. :)

Thanks!

I think I'm gonna get a brushless system and put into my TC3.

As for the T3, I will probably put the Rooster speed control [currently in the TC3] and Epic motor into the T3.

How fast do you think it would go then? The Epic is a pretty torquey motor, from what I have heard.

Hmmm. Not to familiar with that motor. What company makes that again?

I think the company is actually called Epic.

The specific motor I have is an Outlaw Pro 19 turn I think :)

It's fairly quick... I have some trouble controlling my TC3 now. Must get better steering servo :)

Oh ok. Give it a whirl. I know the Chameleon is a 19T but its quite fast for a motor with a low turn. Slap the Epic in the T3 and let me know how it works out. :D
