I think the Vulcan body and the velvet shock bodies alone are worth getting a straight SP kit rather than the conversion. It'll cost you around $75 or so to upgrade these items later.

Would you happen to know the part number for the motor mount? I have a converted kit and I am still trying to figure out all the differences.
Luckily, the used car I bought already had hex screws and aluminum braces in the front. I can live with the old shocks, but really like the velvet bodies because of the longer threads for ride height adjustments.

It says he's out, but he may not have posted them in yet. Either way, he's carrying them now.
One other BIG thing about the SP versus the conversion is the shock cartridges. The SP comes with the RB-5 style cartridges, which last a lot longer. They come with the mid conversion, but they don't come with the SP conversion.

Thanks Turbo Joe! Now I just have to find a picture so I can see what the differences are between this one and what's on mine to decide if it's something I really need.
I got a set of full Velvet shocks for the RB5, so I was able to use my old RB5 cartridges on the ZX5. The thing that's kind odd about that whole thing is the new cartridge is about 5 mm taller internally, so you would need different shafts on a converted car versus a kit to have the same down travel on the shocks. I first put the old shafts in the cartridge and noticed that it looked like about half as much shaft was showing on the front shocks and started measuring. Even then with the difference in oil capacity, the feel would have to be a little different.
Edit: I found a it in a manual pdf file, it's definitely different from what's on my car, so I have another question. is it plastic or aluminum?

The one I drove actually had the one-way, but I think I am going the dif route. Not that I didn't like the one-way, it was really cool. Almost felt 2WD-ish in some ways (which aint a bad thing). But I'll just have to see.
The owner of my LHS is a special K boy, so the parts should be stocked. There are about 6-8 ZX5's out there now that I know of, rest are B44's.
