This is interesting, but I need to know a few things:

1. Is it still possible to run your own T4 rear wheels on the vehicle or do I need the JConcept Wheels, links, and ends?

2. What is the thickness of the body?

I like this, though, I am not sure that I would get the $80 kit if the T4 Rear wheels will still work. Seems like all you would need then is just the front wheels, tires, and the body. Not really sure what is gained with the JConcepts wheels, links, and ends.

Simple: Why charge the customer $40 for only the required parts when you can sell 'em the required parts plus a bunch of other junk for $80?

Mahalo's for the info Andy!

I was really looking to old school with my T4 and try and find some 8th scale wheel adapters to run 8th scale buggy wheels/tires.

I'm sure you guys remember in the late 80's when JG Mfg. made their truck conversions? They also made wheel adapters to run 8th scale wheels/tires on the trucks. This was a very kewl setup! The trucks handled incredible to!

But I am liking the look of the J82! And man can you imagine how kewl it would look with 8th scale buggy wheels/tires on it!

Hmm a J82T maybe?

Looks like some things need to be cleared up

To keep the proper scale look, the J82 uses less offset rear wheels. These wheels intern require the shorter turnbuckle and special JC rod-ends for cleareance.

The bodies/wings will be the same as our standard 10th scale bodies.

I just don't think anyone can really pass judgment until you see it in person and better yet; drive one

Few things more:

1. If I still use my current T4 wheels, will this be illegal for the class rules you guys have initially?

2. Will there be Rulon style spoked wheels for the J82, fronts and rears?

3. Has there been any thought on going to a stronger wing setup similar to 1/8 scale buggies, or even something like the old Academy SB V1 Wings that were hard plastic, but 1/10 scale size?

4. So what exactly is mandatory to do the conversion other than what I have listed here:
a. Body
b. Front Wheels
c. Front tires

If I can get Carolinas RC to order this product for me as they carry JConcepts stuff, may just do it. Already have a $90 credit sittiing with them.

I really don't understand how people can be so harsh on this idea. It looks killer and is a very interesting idea, unique and appealing.

I have to give JConcepts credit for coming up with something that give electric a little more in an arena that is more and more gas driven.

The most important thing is getting people's attention not that there is a class sanctioned by ROAR.
Losi did this with a truggy style conversion for the XX4 back in the day and this has a lot more potential than that project.

The idea is cool and if it opens up opportunity for more people to race or bash the better. I can only imagine how cool this be on a dusty BMX track with massive jumps.

Good work guys!

1. No, the car would be to wide and also mess up the handling.
2. Depends on th popularity
3. Yes, but we tried to keep initial cost down. If it becomes a popular class; then it's possible
4. See answer to #1. "To keep the proper scale look, the J82 uses less offset rear wheels. These wheels intern require the shorter turnbuckle and special JC rod-ends for cleareance."

Thanks for the info. I won't be joining the class then since its not cost effective for me (having another whole set of truck tires just to buggy-ise the vehicle).

If I ran B4 buggy arms in the rear and the appropriate CVD Bone and turnbuckle setup, anyone know what dimensions the rear of the T4 would be with this on there compared to the J28?

If it is not enough, If JConcepts in some way could also make a conversion set of rear a-arms and CVD Bones that would shorten the rear end to the right spec, I could see joining up then as the cost would be cheaper for those who already have plenty of truck tires.

As it sits now though, can't do it. Good luck though, I think this is the way buggy should go so its still a viable class in the summer on the 1/8 scale oriented tracks.

That was our intent, to offer people something different. Like it or not...it is different, haha.

I have a feeling that people will be asking you quite a bit after they see it run.

how much longer do people want the chassis? i do admit it does look a little short, but will try it just the same. i have some aluminum at home to try and make a chassis, any info on additional length would be appreciated.

I'm thinking make it the same wheelbase as a 1/8 buggy. I might have to mod a chassis and try it sometime.

shot a message to someone I know who should have access to a b4 and rear T4 rims / tires. Hopefully he can see ifthe T4 rims / tires mount up to the b4 setup, with no issues, what the rear width is. Could be another option.
