It will way out handle a 1/10th scale truck. If the kit included a chasis that added a couple inches to the car then I might be interested in one of these.
Guys,Guys,Guys.
Hold the train. Gezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Being that less than 15% of the market is racers then I dont think this has much to do with regular racing.
Look at it this way.
You have a track thats outdoor or an 1/8th scale track for the most part and guys dont like running TRUCKS. Well Associated has sold alot of RTR T4's,T4's and FT T4's.
All these guys were simply given an option to now have a buggy as well. I think the price is very fair for what you get.
I would rather see these running around than truck bodies on outdoor tracks. Gives you a reminder of Rails,or Dunebuggy racing.
The guys at JConcepts were looking for something different and they did it. Im sure it wasnt to dilute any classes. It was designed for people that had T4's to simply have a Option and Now they DO!
You guys crack me up being so negative and ONLY race minded.
Goodluck to everyone racing.
Misunderstanding......I think it's a cool idea and wish I would've kept my T4. I just don't believe it will bring new people in. No negativity...just didn't see it as harjo did. Race minded? Ummm....guilty as charged. Now, with that being said, if it basically becomes a B4 on steroids, how could you go wrong with that? Does it use the front body mounts for the wing mount?
The T4 uses the same B4 wing mounts for the rear truck body posts, so that is actually just like a Wing mount on the B4. I would assume you just use velcro for holding the body on as most people do anyway. I think it looks like something that would be good for our outdoor track as well, but It may take a few months to get guys converted. Spec the Class with Motor, and Battery, and I think it would be huge. Much like the Super Sport Lipo Truck class is becoming at some tracks.

Yea, you can use the front body mounts for a Losi front wing.
I have 2 trucks. One will be for for my tight 1/10 scale track racing, and I just the other day decided to convert my T4 into a mod truck, with a little beefier suspension settings, more weight, faster motor, so that I could run it at the bigger nitro track.
I ran it and was shocked at:
A. how much fun I was having (comparing it to my Losi e8ight)
B. how fast I was actually going. (I didn't time myself, but I felt just as fast with my 1/10 scale as I did with my 1/8 scale).
C. shocked at how well it did!!
So, I will for sure convert my Mod T4 into a J82 and run it with nitro 1/8 scale (for now) and use a 6.5 Novak and LiPo in it. I can't wait to beat some nitro guys in my electric 1/10 scale buggy!! YaHooo.
I am so lazy with my quick release hubs for my T4. Please don't tell me I have to go back
I can only imagine that it's going to handle a titch better than the T4 being a buggy. I too love the buggy look and feel.
So are the rear wheels entirley new?
I agree with the guy up there. The T4 is already wider than my Losi 8ight, so if we could get an extended chassis.......presto......instant 1/8 scale electric buggy.
so this is truck size for larger rougher tracks, but handles and feels like a buggy performance wise? next you need to make a 1/8 electric buggy conversion with something like the bj4(or tamiya df-03...) because i would deff go for that

89% of Revos are racers. If your Revo can out-bash and out-run a Savage, put this in your sig.
SMOKE TIRES, NOT DRUGS
46.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot and have no real value or truth.
I have a Losi 8ight that is converted to electrtic (yes...very cool).
With the whole LiPo/Brushless movement advancing electric into new territories, how cool would it be to come out with a legit 1/8 scale electric buggy?
The J82 will suite me fine for now, but could you imagine a factory made J82 with a longer (same size as nitro 1/8 scale) chassis, just a titch thicker guage plastic for the entire car (especially arms and chassis reienforcment).
Now we have a bonified 1/8 scale electric buggy that's fast and durable (well....somewhere in between. Not nitro durable, but for sure beef'd up compared to the sometimes fragile 1/10).
How cool!! Maybe I'm the only one. Forgive my yapperin'. I got excitetd there for a minute.
