Andy, can you give more info on those front wheels/tires? I have a 10T I am doing a "resto-mod" on and was struggling what to do for the narrow fronts. Are these similar/exactly the same in dimension to the original truck narrows?
I'll dimension some out next week for ya! Please send me a pm to remind me though, haha.

The conversion will be around $80 depending on where you get it. They have a different offset from truck rears, so you will need to run the "regular" style axles.

does this run against 1/10 buggies?
Its meant to allow people to run at any track 1/8th or big 1/10th, with the appearence of the 1/10th buggy.

The conversion is for those who want the buggy look, without having such limited places to run.

We're not looking to have ROAR add a class or anything, we just wanted to provide an option for people who dont have a local electric track. As far as the suggestions for RB5/CR wheels, this project was in the works before the RB5 was even out...or known about.
I still think the best answer is LOL wtf... but im not sure I get it.
regardless, I think I may have to buy one and run it in brushless lipo truck just to be different.
also since most buggys are transformed into trucks.... making them truggies. this one is different
its a truck transformed into a buggy therefore making it a Buck?

i like the idea. a lot of the haters have never tried racing the b4 on an outdoor 8th scale track that deteriorates. its the only reason i'll even bother with the t4 because they work better on the rough tracks. i dont race truck indoor only 2wd and 4wd buggy.
the only bummer for me is the gt2 set-up wont work but, i want this conversion.....
Back in 90s Pro-line brought the Associated team narrow front wheels and tires down to the big winter race in Florida and dominated the competition that weekend. I believe after the weekend the manufactures met along with the officials to not move forward with that size wheel and tire as it took away the scale appearance of the truck class. I tested a narrow front wheel and tire a few years ago and had great results with it. It was probably the best my truck ever was outdoor but I could not run them as they where not legal.
I do like this concept as I prefer buggies over truck any day of the week.
I liked those tires. They came with the rc10t along with a set of standard size front truck tires. The skinny tires turned the truck like it was on rails. I don't get the whole "original" idea though. Basically it's a set of tires and a buggy body. It's been done before. Shoot, I've done it but that was back in the day just horsin' around. Guess I should have tried to market it 15 years ago.
It's fun to do different stuff though, and this is definitely different. Whatever it takes to get more people into the hobby is good for everyone. Not a bad price for a set of tires, wheels and a new body, oh and some turnbuckles. Good luck with it JConcepts.

I don't see how this is going to get more people into the hobby. First, you have to tell someone they have to buy a T4 and then spend $80 to change it to a J82. Looks cool for those who already have a T4. But now you got stock, 19T, and mod J82 classes to add to the docket. Can you say dillution? Just one mans opinion, though.
hopefully at our track we can run them with 19t truck as they are the same size this way it wont dilute anything. i think its a great idea for those of us who hate trucks but run them cause the class is big.
Guys,Guys,Guys.
Hold the train. Gezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Being that less than 15% of the market is racers then I dont think this has much to do with regular racing.
Look at it this way.
You have a track thats outdoor or an 1/8th scale track for the most part and guys dont like running TRUCKS. Well Associated has sold alot of RTR T4's,T4's and FT T4's.
All these guys were simply given an option to now have a buggy as well. I think the price is very fair for what you get.
I would rather see these running around than truck bodies on outdoor tracks. Gives you a reminder of Rails,or Dunebuggy racing.
The guys at JConcepts were looking for something different and they did it. Im sure it wasnt to dilute any classes. It was designed for people that had T4's to simply have a Option and Now they DO!
You guys crack me up being so negative and ONLY race minded.
Goodluck to everyone racing.
I ordered this kit and don't even have A T4....Yet!I think it looks awesome.
As far as running another class goes I don't see how changing tires and body makes it an 8th scale.?I will be able to run this in 10th scale electric stock or pro truck or 2wd buggy at the tracks I run on.
