Has anyone tried pink/clay slicks yet?

I'm jealous, even though I have 2 great tracks in town. I wish it wasn't so far from me in the middle of no where. Maybe some of us Fort guys can come down on a big race day.

Jake- We have run pink slicks which work really well when the track is tacky, usually in the morning. The surface is Red clay, much like you would find in GA, or FL, just with less sand. They are talking about trying running the track a few different ways, either running it dry, in which case we may end up running silver slicks much like the track in Dalton, GA that hosted mod nats in 02? They've also talked about watering it more, in which we would like bald to nearly bald pink tapres.

They will be trying both of these eventually to see what would work better for the racers.

Dasupacat- They are talking about have a big race here in Feb. We will also be having a TBA race in June that will be very big!

Wow! that track is cool.
Robbie I have a map...yep 2 hours 45 mins away.
Let me know when you decide to go. It may be a while for me.
Looks like I may need 4000 packs and up to make the heats.
And an upgraded motor etc...
I beileve I may take a trip up there also in the near future.
As long as you have mod 4-wheel.

Id love to race a 501x there 4-sure! That track is huge!
What is the 4-wheel tire that is used there? Losi Pink taper pins?

Default Nice Track

Looks good Ben. I will make some trips down. I race in Ft Wayne but not every Saturday. I would love to try my new X 6 out on the track. Have they considered racing on Saturday? I know that conflicts with Planet and maybe that is why they haven't but they are really far enough away that I wouldn't think it would be a big issue. It takes me an hour to get to Ft Wayne or Indy so it would be about 2 1/2 hours for me. Thanks for the heads up.

bmaglinger- There should be enough 4whers each weekend. We didn't run 4wh this past weekend, but we had 5-6, everyones first weekend so they wanted to get the track down first before we all started running everything. As for tires, you will be safe with half pin or more Pink Tapers.

nutz3rcyktw- Yeah come on down. Sunday's work out the best for them, so I doubt they will change the Offroad date. They are dead smack between Planet and P&T, which both run on Sat, so they don't want to kill buisness for either track. We had about 40-45 entries last weekend, and we were done by 6:30, so all in all makes for not too long of a day.

They also run a tight ship there, getting through the heats and mains rather quickly. Ellis are you going this weekend? I'll probably be going next weekend (I think a lot of Indy guys will be as well)

I am not going this Sunday, I have a Superbowl party to attend. I will be there for the Feb 10th race. I know of atleast 5 guys from Planet that are planning on running that weekend. We should get everybody together and make this a huge turnout.

Default Thanks

I will try to take off early some Sunday from church and make it down. Sounds and looks like a great facility. I figured they didn't want to pull racers from the other Saturday programs. Hope to see you.

I'll be there Tuesday for practice.
The website says you'll be open from 5PM-9PM

I just wanna see if my batteries will last. I run 3600 saddles in my B44.
I am running brushless though. 7.5 velocity.

bmaglinger- As long as your batteries don't have ALOT of wear and tear, you should be fine. I am still running out some of my old 3800's, and they work just fine.
