Hudy tech lathe help
Hi, I just bought a second hand hudy tech lathe and I've set it up with the tip just above the center of the comm and have it spinning the correct direction but it is leaving serrations in the comm. I'm using v guides and shimming the armature a little bit to eliminate the play.
Any help greatly appreciated. |
how much voltage are you giving it, is the arm very tight in terms of side to side play? if it moves a little this will happen.

Any help greatly appreciated. Make sure armature is not bent. Diamond bit? Get one if not. Run lathe at 3.0-3.5v. Oil on v-guides. Before I went brushless, I had your exact lathe and with the above setup I never had problems. |
voltage
Hi, I'm running it at 4.8v as per the instruction sheet. I'm using a diamond bit. How tight should the purple retaining clips be?
I'll try running the lathe at lower voltage and check tonight. Thanks. |
