On the front arm hinge pins do you put the set screw in the hinge pin hole or do you make another beside it, like the b4?

Has anyone driven on a "blue grove" out door track?
I screwed the set screw in the rear of the arm and cut the hinge pin to length.

Here is a video of my B44 on a high traction indoor track. I'm in 2nd in white. Both B44's(leader) are basically running the same setup. One word: DIALED. THe car is better than I am, LOL

heatshrinked my cva pins. teh clips a nice idea... but if you dont glue them, they will move and eventually the pins will come loose.

some people have dremeled a flat spot on the pin itself and force the grub screw to "capture" .. but i prefer the heatshrink treatment.

Hey Shadows,

What pinion/spur combo are you running on your CO27 and how are you going temperature wise.

There was someone on here before I think kimballion from VIC who was struggling with his.

well with the hot weather lately, been running 18/84.

Motor has been coming off quite hot. but can still withstand the "3 second rule" and not stinky.

18:84 in my 6.5R GTB rig with 5500 mAh bats lets me run top speed for 45 minutes and the motor gets *maybe* 99° F. That's real cool.

I moved to a 22:84 and it still spins the tires from 0 to 60 like there's no tomorrow. I stopped running after 25 straight minutes because it's too dark outside. This cannot be normal, can it?

Should I move higher to a 24 or 26:84? that seems insane. Motor is supposed to be 160° F when geared correctly. I'm like 60% off that thermal profile with way more room to grow. My driving skills can no longer keep up with the car....

Here's a simplier, albiet brute force method for keeping the hinge pins in. What my friends and I have done is to take a pin, put in a vice, then take a center punch to very edge of the pin and hammer away. the idea is to create a very tiny flange at the front edge of the pin. This seems to keep it from moving backwards very well.

Just watch your fingers!

Be careful, it sounds like that method is prone to some binding.

Nope, so far the a-arms flop around just as smoothly as before when the shock is removed. At any rate, I'm going to stick with this method until AE releases the a-arm mod.
