Default Problem with Mamba braking or something?

Ok this will be hard to explain but ill try. I have been running my FT T4 with a Mamba Max 5700 on a max amps 6000 mah 3's and 2's lipos for about three weeks now with no problems except little stuff breaking due to the gross power.
Today I did a few things....remounted the servo, installed new body mounts in the rear, and cleaned up all the reciever wires with zip ties. After charging the batteries up I went straight for the 3's for some on-road speed runs. Well all I can say it has lost a bit of its speed....its still fast, just not as fast. I had reset my meshing on the spur/pinion and I thought it might be binding because its to close or something so I backed it out a bit. Tried it again same speed. I thought the slipper be giving TOO much so I tightened it down. Still the same speed. I thought maybe something might be wrong with the 3's Lipo so I tried the 2's and it also seemed a little slow. Now im confused. I have noticed one other thing. It seems to not be coasting when you take off the gas...almost acts like its braking. But to be honest I cant remember if this is norm or not. I hooked it up to the computer and the brake is at factory setting and drag brake is off. Should the car be stopping as soon as you take off the gas. Something seems to stopping the car rather abruptly when gas is removed and I cant figure out what the deal is with decrease in speed. Does anyone have any suggestions to my newest delimea.

Default mamba

I would say check your radio settings if they are all fine then try resetting your speedo and see if that cures it hope this helps.

Thankyou. I check the radio and all is fine but I have yet to reset the esc. I check that next tomarrow when its daylight. If I hold the car in hand and hit the gas should the wheels stop immediately or should thier be some sort of freewheel. Just curious b/c I wonder if something is binding.

Jeremy thankyou for your support. I reset the pinion/spur mesh and reset the esc and everything looks good now...even tho I tested it in the dark.lol. Not really a smart thing with this kinda of speed I know but I had to test it. Thanks again.

I am looking into a mamba max 7700kV system for my tc4 clay late model. I am not sure I need all that power. Can that system be dialed down to match the 4600, 5700 or the 6900kV systems?

what is common at your track for brushless setups?

I would say start with the 5700 or 6900 unit if it was me. 7700 almost seems excessive but on your track, maybe thats the way to go.

I agree the 5700 is the most versatile with all the Lipo options you could need, Why restrict yourself to the 77k. if your in it for the speed just for fun the 57 k with 3's lipo will be faster than the 77k will ever be. I found this website to be a nice read when I decided to go with the 5700 MM. http://www.beatyourtruck.com/prodreview-mambamax.html Enjoy!

What's up Dave? Are you running the Sidewinder or MM?

The 5700 is plenty for any offroad use for sure.... my T4 will pull smooth wheelies with it on 5 cells on an indoor track.

I've run the 4600 in my buggy, and had it geared to the moon and it still had plenty of rip.

But what I would like to see is the new motors Castle is working on those are going to be sweet!

I tried to use the same ones I took out of my Novak brushless and they are very sloppy in the mamba motor. I think they will strip out if I tighten them up.
