Unfortunately we are very much the minority in the market. Bashers outnumber us significantly.

If this new RTR helps get new people into this great hobby is that a bad thing?

SO TRUE, SO TRUE..... I heard from a rep at Hobbytown once that their research shows that 3% of their RC Car business is racing.

What burns my ass, from a marketing standpoint, why they didn't use a different brand name for all of their RTRs and junk and preserve their race proven Losi name. Now, regardless of how their Race cars perform, they have this black cloud over them. After all, they own Sportwerks!? It's called Brand Differentiation, preserve the aspects and qualities of one brand under a company name while also being able to attract a different market through a different name. It's like Toyota owning Lexus and Scion.... they're seperate and have their own brand name for a reason... to go after DIFFERENT MARKETS!!!!! SERIOUSLY? WHO THE HELL WORKS IN HORIZON'S MARKETING DEPARTMENT?!!

I'm the biggest Losi fan out there...but this really sucks arse! Keep watering down the product line...soon enough they'll be a freaking Traxxas. Oh well...they still has some great RC's out there.

All,

It's not like they are going to stop making the team products. Like mentioned earlier, the CR line and the Eight line are barely a year out of the gates and are already among the top race vehicles on the market.

So what if Losi/Horizon needs to find a way to make the Losi name more profitable. If you ran the business, you would be looking for the same. As far as putting a different name on their RTR products, that probably would have been a good idea or they could have just kept with Losi Sport as they did for the Mini-T and MLST. Not sure why they didn't.

Means to an end. If Losi were to go out of business, y'all would be much more upset. They now can use their race proven name to help sell RTR basher vehicles in order to keep us racing with their product. Good for them!

Yep. This truck would not have gotten this much attention if it were labeled a Sportwerks.

From a comparison standpoint, it has a brushless system and a spektrum based radio system. This truck is really already more than half way ready for a track. Put some good off-road tires on it, get rid of that awful wheelie bar and you have just converted a bashers vehicle to a GOOD entry level race quality vehicle with very little money.

Much harder to do (although not impossible, just more $$ involved) with the VLX Rustler.

Is the wheelie bar adjustable like the Traxxas vehicles?

How ya figure? That's a sensorless BL system in the Speed-T.

I guess I was hoping for a bumpstart version LST3.

My mistake. You're right as I didn't look at the brushless system close enough. I was assuming that they kept the Novak based system from previous releases.

They actually have their own line of BL systems now.

http://losi.com/Search/Default.aspx?...xcelorin+combo

They don't look like anything special to me, but the price is decent for a basher setup. Of course, I'd still rather have the programmability of a Mamba Max over one the Xcelorin ESC's.
