I would pick up what ever has easily available parts & support localy. You may also be able to vissit your local track & find a good used setup that some one is trying to get rid of. Typicaly the track director can tell you if some one has something that is in respectable condition.

I am an associated guy, so if you seem me giving suggestions for a different brand, believe me when I tell you that I feel this is a great product.
Of all of the RTR trucks out there this one has the better radio, the better motor and the better esc (speed controler) it is under $300 and if you order it from a main hobbies, where I posted the link they will give you a discount.
For the discount, "You have to ask for it" when you place your order. Though not always, it usually is in the neighborhood of 10%, especially if your spending the money 0n 2 trucks.
Just about any RTR truck kit over say $225 will be a good one. Just remember the old sayings - "you get only what you pay for" and "if something seems too good to be true it probally is."
Just be weary of the Kits that are really cheap.

I agree. If you ever think you might possibly race, it is cheaper to buy a good truck now, then try and sell a bad truck. It will depriciate by 50% when you put it on the track the first time. The T4 is a great truck. You can get a new team T4 for about $180 or a Factory team for about $225. Or ebay or on the for sale forum you can find them all day long for $150 in great shape. Then you could buy a used brushless for around $150 or a brushed system for about $60 used. i.e. I bought a checkpoint 10x2 and a cyclone for $60 and they work great. I do use brushless and they are the way to go if you want to fork over the money for easy maintenance.
Good luck....
