Default Anyone convert an RT4GP Academy truck to electric?

Anyone here done this? I am thinking of picking up one really cheap to try out on a conversion, but want to know what all was needed to do this, and if someone who has done this coudl machine me the parts needed.

Not that i know of, but should be a strong truck. I haven't heard of any problems, with that truck

i did..never finished it though..you'd need battery boxes like the old associated ones from the rc10 or something comparable, a motor mount, and maybe new aluminum to make a new chassis for a more professional look...i'll post the pics of mine when i find them

Default Working on the same project

I have had a motor mount made in aluminum. I am going to flip the drives to run the motor like a BJ4.

how much did it cost you to get one made up? did you make it, if so how much would you charge to make another one?

I had it made. $150 for three. I am making a revision and having more made. Which way do you want to run the motor? Behind the spur gear where the stock engine sits? Or infront, like the B44?

Latest design. Just sent out for quote. Will work as either B44 arrangement (with diffs flipped) or in stock motor location.

Default My RT4 conversion

I had a motor mount made to run my saddle pack batteries. I flipped the diffs to make the motor run the correct direction.
