Default 1/10th truggy

I'm thinking about trying to set up a 1/10th scale truggy. The easiest choice would be to purchase a durable 4wd buggy & mount wheels w/ a greater off set on it. Most buggies today are set up so that they can have much longer arms, & don't rely on the tires very much to gain width. It would basicly be the same concept as some of the original truggies w/ the axle extenders. Before I do something like this I was curious if some one has experience with something like the mrc nitro 1/10th scale or the hb nitro 1/10th scale.

There is a thread I think here in RC Tech or on Radiocontrolzone where guys were buying up the MRC RT4GP truck Pro spec version for like $99 at ultimate hobbies. they appear not to stock MRC stuff anymore, but they were converting them to electric and appeared to like it.

Seems what is kind of hot right now is to convert the CRT .5's and use a longer chassis setup and offset rims. You may want to look into going that route, though, could be more expensive than converting a 1/10 scale buggy, but you will have the benefits of a nitro drivetrain.

If you decide you want to do an MRC conversion, in particular the buggy, give Dave G at MRC a call, and see what he can work out with you. He may be able to give you a deal on parts depending on what you do. Doesn't hurt to ask, and if it helps move product I know no company would mind that.

Is there a class by you of people interested in running 4wd stadium truck / truggy? Heck, even just truggying up the buggies may make them work better on the rough stuff.

Wonder if you could mount tires and a larger body to give that desert truck look on em?
