I would simply refuse to participate in any ROAR sanctioned races if that were to happen... but let's not get the cart that far in front of the horse. ROAR is so far behind and out of touch that I think they won't have a choice but to cater to the masses if the day comes that 1/8 electric is mainstream and must come under the ROAR umbrella. If Castle doesn't have the motivation or influence to keep that from happening, but I believe Tekin does.

Novak won't be able to bully that crap through ROAR this time.

No worries mate. Let's race.

i know i would join. if they made a 1/8 electric class at my track, i would sell my revo to get into it without a doubt. faster, better handling, already. just too expensive. if it turned to the ease and even faster speeds of electric. i couldnt resist that

The only place I have raced this year where the ROAR rules were actually followed was at the 2 Nats this year I attended and 1 of those tracks, The Farm does not even use ROAR rules at it's other races. It follows the RC Pro Series rules as a guideline and this is the track where next years 1/8th scale gas buggy IFMAR Worlds will be held too!

So don't let ROAR rules upset you too much! Most local tracks just use them as guidelines and modify them to suit they're racers needs that most of the time includes legalizing li-pos and brushless systems.

I think alot of racers forget this is a hobby and not a sport! The same ones forgot how to have FUN too!

yeah my local track, even though its not so local for me, uses modified roar rules. they allow sensorless motors and lipo packs. if they allow me too i am going to use my soon to be e-revo to race there. they are pretty slack on rules and if you wanna race they let you. thats how most places are now. and you say 1/8 is gonna be at the farm next year? man im so there thats not far from me

Yes the IFMAR Worlds will be at the Farm and there is a brand new "Electric Only" Indoor Off-Road Track opening up just across on the opposite side of Interstate 77 in www.Carolinasrc.com new home. First race is December 8th!

It will be interesting to see the final price on this. I know Castle is pushing based on what they said to have a $300 price point and thats is with the Neu motor and the esc.

As for the whole sensorless versus sensored, I think its stupid to only allow one over the other. I have no complaints with the castle units I have used, and my buddy has no complaints with his novaks, just run em.

I noticed on towers website they list a product as sensored rpm sensor. Perhaps it is a product that will allow you to run a sensorless motor as a sensored motor. I'm sure it would combo great w/ the traxxas system.

It is for their (Novak) Sentry Data logger to monitor rpm of a sensorless or nitro engine.

Does anybody else think the Novak setup has a less than optimal layout? I would've liked to see the electronics on one side and the battery on the other so the all the mass could be narrower. Looks like the batteries are out as far as they can be on both sides while still fitting under the body.

It's awesome to see them participating but I hope they take RcPerformance's lead in terms of layout.

They are setting it up to run two batteries. That way you can run two 8000s and get 14.8 volts and it still fit under body.
