How to lock diff (posi)
Hey everyone i was gonna lock my diff here pretty soon and i wanted to know if i was gonna do this right. so if im wrong could ya please let me know?
Well what i was gonna start off doing was open up the diff and clean out all of grease that is in there if there is any left and then i was gonna pack it with jb weld and put it back together then i was gonna pack the rest of the tranny with some amsoil grease and put everything back together and then drive the truck a couple hours later and i should have posi right?
this is for a electric stampede

that would definetly lock the diff
but i think posi trac still allows some slight diff action
is that a ball diff? if it is better to just build it extremely tight to prevent diff action but still allow you to ahve a working diff if you change your mind

nah it is a planetary diff. I wouldnt think that it would allow it to slip though cause jb weld is pretty thick and sticky.

jb weld turns to a metal like substance it would be permanent
if i were you i would find some 100,000wt diff oil that should be good enough

a true possi diff still allows some slipping, a spool or locker have no slip. so jb weld will create a locked diff, go for the heavy oil thats what i did for my tmaxx, and then when i went to the track we would put lighter oil in it. so you can have the best of both worlds
