Hey Stevie,
Change the motor to a 27 turn and then go up to the showground and practice your little fingers off.
Be real gentle on the throttle, especially around the hairpin after the tree leading up to the double, around the in-field and around the last sweeper before the straight.
When you can do 16 laps without stacking you'll be on the money!!!

Looking that you bought a RTR Buggy, You are prolly just starting out in this wonderful/expensive hobby. Get a CO27, gear it with a 19tooth pinion and go nuts! Remember, slower is faster around the track, get someone to setup your B4 for you where you race. Get teh right tires, and concentrate on driving before we throw a 13x1 in there! Faster at this point will only result in a broken buggy!
Also, when the person you find is setting up your buggy, have him set your slipper correctly.. From a dead stop on the track surface you race on, You want the slipper to slip the first 4 feet or so. Being a new racer, throttle control will be an issue as you leanr to drive. So loosening it alittle more will allow you to drive more smoothly resulint in faster laptimes.

agreed, but above someone listed a 81/19 gearing with a co27 in the b4....sounds undergeared to me....everyone says 3 teeth over the t4 gearing, and in that i ran 87/18 (and have ran up to 87/20 in a 5 minute race - reedy 767 brushes (trailing edge off on + brush) and purple springs around), so my suggestion would be 81/21to 81/22 .

as you progress get the diff ball bearings (too replace the 2 bushings) and titanium turn buckles. make sure you add your 1.5 oz of weight to the rear. learn to drive that car smooth and i think you will find out that there wont be anything you cant drive fast in the dirt.

Which is why you would want to run a 19t, opposed to what you suggest, a 20-21t.
Or depending on the lay-out, if it's high speed. You'd want a taller pinion, since you're going to be in the "powerband."
