Default Please Look! Traxxas Rustler...

Can you guys give me some feedback on the Traxxas Rustler RTR? I'm considering buying one. Does it have Bellcrank Steering? I've never really taken a close look at one. Any advice/opinion is gr8.

Thanks Guys!

I would say that you should get this truck if you want to have fun and not race. This truck is very durable and is perfect for mucking around or bashing. But if you want to race you should get something like a Team Associated T3 or a Team Losi XXX-T. Both are great truck and are much more suited for racing. If you do get the Rustler and are sick of bashing and want to race it you could, with a little work and practice. be able to beat the Losi and Associateds. You should have a look at www.ultimatetraxxas.com and have a look at the ultimate rustler. TheJANG knows what he is doing and just any questions in the forums. They will help you out heaps as they have these trucks and can tell you how to set it u ect..

Wow!
That's ironic... I just searched "Rustler Hop Ups" on Dogpile, and it took me there. That is the sweetest rustler i've seen!! Makes me wish i had money. No, im not a racer, I got bad luck "attempting to race". Smashed a 4tec into a wall, busted that thing up beyond repair. I guess i could've fixed it, but im lazy. LOL. Bottom line, Im 100% BAsh!! Well, 95% BASH!!!

For more tips on how to improve your rustler go to www.rcsites.com and find racin' rustlers.

I have a rustler with a 3000mah battery and jett 8.0 modified and it goes FAST.

Btw, it does come with bellcrank steering but you probably want to get a servo with titanium gears (I learned that the hard way , I busted 2 gears in it)

I'm suprised at how people are calling the rustler junk when it could smoke any other car just with a few mods. I mean all I've done is put a new motor in it and new tires and it is going as I said, FAST. I hope in the future to get cvds, bb, and an esc.

I've seen a rustler with a cheap mod motor smoke a Losi XXX-T RTR that had a high-end mod. The driver's skills were about the same. While I was marshaling that race, I had to help the same Rustler three times because it spun out from torque on the small linoleum area of the track. It ended up as my worst marshaling session ever because I put the Losi RTR on the back straight when it was supposed to be in the turns. The guy had flipped his truck onto the back straight while I wasn't paying attention.Just goes to show, PAY ATTENTION while marshaling.

with the right mods the rustler can be extremely competitve. i found a great website called "the racin' rustlers" It is ranked about 55th in the top 100 rc websites. It has tons of great mods that could get the rustler to beat any losi or ae truck.

Default Racers point of view

I have three rustlers...they belong to my kids on the weekends that I have them. But the ones I dont they are mine . Right now I have one in stock and one Mod. I smoke most everyone and then they get mad cause they got beat by "A D@#* Rustler" Granted we have done alot of work to ours but I love racing the underdog.
